GREAT-ER II System Overview

• The database is the backbone of the system. It is accessed via an API interface which allows to reach local or remotely connected databases.
• Next, a layer of vital components support the GREAT-ER user interfaces while managing the database interaction on their own.
• Build upon this basis a scalable set of user interfaces is proposed that covers the full range of GREAT-ER user needs.
  
• The collection of GREAT-ER II components is completed with some administration tools to controll the database and to import / export data.
